Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PuppDelight collects, uses, and protects information when you visit puppdelight.com. It also explains your choices when you contact us or subscribe to our newsletter.

1. Information We Collect

We receive personal information you choose to provide when you contact us or subscribe to our newsletter. Newsletter subscriptions are managed through Zoho Campaigns; you do not need a website account to read our guides.

However, we use third-party tools that collect data automatically when you visit the site (see the analytics and newsletter sections below).

If you contact us via our contact form or email, we receive whatever information you choose to share (name, email address, your message). We use this only to respond to you and do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

2. Newsletter subscriptions

PuppDelight uses Zoho Campaigns to manage newsletter signups and send practical Labrador care and training emails, normally twice a month. Subscribing is optional and is separate from contacting us or reading the website. We rely on your consent to send these emails. You must select the signup checkbox and confirm your address using the email we send before you become a confirmed subscriber.

We collect your email address and subscription records, such as signup and confirmation times, form source, consent status, and unsubscribe or delivery status. Zoho may also process technical information such as your IP address and browser or device details when the signup form loads or is used. Where email tracking is enabled, messages may record opens and link clicks to help us understand engagement; these signals are not always accurate.

Zoho processes subscription data to provide this service for us. Its group companies and service providers may process data in other countries. Zoho describes its processing locations, subprocessors, and transfer safeguards in its Privacy Policy. We do not sell newsletter email addresses or use them to send unrelated third-party marketing.

You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter or by emailing editor@puppdelight.com. Withdrawing consent stops future newsletter marketing and does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal. You can also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your subscription information, subject to applicable law.

We keep subscription information for as long as needed to manage your requested subscription. After an unsubscribe or deletion request, we may keep limited consent, suppression, delivery, or abuse-prevention records where needed to honor your opt-out, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Unconfirmed signup records are kept only as needed to manage and verify the request; they are not included in newsletter sends. Retention depends on the purpose of each record and any applicable obligations.

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use PuppDelight — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and where traffic comes from. This helps us improve our content.

Google Analytics collects data such as:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • General geographic location (country/city level — not your exact address)
  • Device type and browser
  • How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct, referral)

We use analytics reports to understand overall site activity. Analytics can involve online identifiers and device information; it is not the same as information that you provide to subscribe. We do not intentionally send newsletter email addresses or confirmation links to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics uses cookies to function. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. PuppDelight uses cookies in the following ways:

  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to track visit data as described above
  • Functionality cookies — set by WordPress to maintain basic site functionality

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies for ad targeting purposes at this time.

Most browsers allow you to control or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site function.

5. Affiliate Links

If a page includes affiliate links, it will identify them. When you follow a link to a third-party retailer, that site may set its own cookies and collect data according to its own privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more information.

6. Third-Party Links

PuppDelight links to external websites for reference and further reading (such as AKC, AVMA, and VCA Hospitals). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reading their privacy policies before submitting any personal information to them.

7. Children’s Privacy

PuppDelight is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. A change to this notice does not automatically give us consent to send you marketing emails.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of your personal information.
